On Visual Intelligence 2026

I don’t really use any form of social media anymore (or my phone, for that matter), so I’ll use this two-impressions-a-month corner of the internet to quickly say: I have been and continue to be in awe of the talent and collective drive of all the people involved in Visual Intelligence (and Siri as a whole) here at Apple. This feature’s rapid evolution and growth have always been the direct result of insane levels of care and dedication, from brainstorming and design all the way through to testing and evaluation. Our revamp for Liquid Glass and integration into Screenshots last year felt like a true shared labour of love already, but everyone across the board somehow raised the bar even higher this time around - and it shows. We’ve worked cross-functionally with so many more teams across the company to bring Visual Intelligence to new places (Hello, Macs and iPads! Wagwan, Camera and Photos!), and with new actions and styles that we hope you love, all alongside a brand-new Siri experience.

When I first joined Apple, one idea that the onboarding really instilled was that I was here to do my best work, to contribute to something unique that couldn’t happen anywhere else. Pausing briefly to take stock of what we’ve just announced will roll out in the fall, I’m reminded yet again of how much truth was in that message. Every meeting, every ad-hoc discussion at our desks, every debate in a pull request, and even every silly Slack thread of jokes and banter, it all comes together to create not just an environment that I never take for granted in the slightest, but also crucially a product ecosystem that continues to surprise and delight each day. I still don’t understand how someone as dumb as me has been lucky enough to get to work with this amazing group of people, but I’m incredibly proud of how much our team and all our friends (old and new!) have managed to accomplish together thus far.

So this year, whether it’s:

  • splitting a bill after a night out with friends,

  • adding that gift card you got for your birthday straight to your Apple Wallet,

  • adding your kid’s football (… soccer) schedule for the season straight to your calendar,

  • adding that business card someone still handed out in 2026, straight to your contacts,

  • scanning your medical device with your camera to log your blood pressure, glucose, or weight straight to Health,

  • seeing if that extra slice of pecan pie is such a good idea after all,

  • using Visual Intelligence as a means of asking Siri to tell you more about whatever’s on your mind,

  • or one of our other first-class experiences

, I think I speak for all of us when I say that we hope you find some value and joy out of Visual Intelligence across your Apple devices.

PS: if you’re a developer, make sure you check out David Munechika’s WWDC session this year on how to best integrate with Visual Intelligence’s search interface, across the ecosystem.
